Know Thyself . . . Know a Tailor
The average of all the sizes in your closet may not be your size today.
For most online ordering, you need only know bust, waist and hip measurements.
- Bust - measure where the girls are fullest.
- Waist - note where you crease when you do a side bend and measure there.
- Hips - wrap that tape around your most fulsome area.
Avoid mismeasurements by keeping tape parallel to floor. Be familiar with the sleeve lengths of favorite tops and the inseam lengths of favorite pants, keeping in mind the best shoe heights for each type. Knowing your numbers and preferences means fewer returns and fewer fit adjustments.
Investments in clothing pay off when a tailor's expert alterations turn good enough fit into great fit.
