Introducing our Wearing Love partner
The Legacy of Grace Foundation

Marta Hill Gray, the Executive Director of Culpepper Gardens, an Arligton, VA based low-income retirement community, introduced me to Ram Dass's profound observation that in witnessing and caring for those at the end of life,  "we're walking each other home."  Marta created the Legacy of Grace Foundation to ease aspects of that passage.  The Foundation provides funds to ensure that Culpepper Gardens residents, no matter their financial status, can live their final years in a familiar, dedicated, and caring community.

The Wearing Love Project features unique pieces being developed by our favorite designers for the purpose of supporting the Legacy of Grace Foundation.  Joan Goodman of PONO has made her new Gemini Fiore bracelets our first collaboration.

Made in Italy of featherweight resin with a laser-cut floral design, the Gemini cuff is easy to put on and take off, can be worn with either side up, and fits small and larger wrists well.  The price of the cuff is $225, and $115 of each sale will be donated to the Legacy of Grace Fund. Many thanks to Joan and Barbara of PONO, and to Marta and the Foundation for gracing us with a beautiful way to affirm the dignity and vitality of each of our finite lives.

“A society that does not value its older people denies its roots and endangers its future.  Let us strive to enhance their capacity to support themselves for as long as possible and, when they cannot do so anymore, to care for them.”

-Nelson Mandella
